Our Services

What makes Sycamore Financial Advisors stand out in the crowd is financial consultants who are carefully selected for our ability to provide best in class services from basic to complex and everything in between with a prudent and commonsense approach.

Financial Planning

Our objective is to ensure that client portfolios are diversified and aligned with your personal circumstances and long-term goals in an effort to achieve the best possible outcome in any market scenario.  We will take the time to understand your goals and work to help you enjoy life today while planning for tomorrow, dreams included.

We use several financial planning tools to guide you toward a more secure financial future. One of these enables the incorporation of detailed goals and risk tolerances for two individuals with analyses of "What If Plan Results" for unknowns related to life insurance, disability, long-term care needs and cash flow in retirement.  It features Stress Tests that show the effects on a portfolio of hypothetical events against historical returns, possible investment losses and the Safety Margin needed to withstand market ups and downs.  Monte Carlo simulations show how making small adjustments now can have a big impact on your chances of reaching your goals.  And we keep you engaged in the progress of your financial plan, which means you'll be more likely to meet your objectives.

Another software tool we use focuses more narrowly on asset allocation.  Based on your time frame for different financial objectives and risk tolerance, this tool presents a diversified portfolio with a mix of asset classes and subclasses (e.g., cash, fixed income, stocks, real estate).  Sycamore Financial Advisors offers a range of products for asset allocation including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, REITs, IRAs and fixed annuities from major carriers.

We are supported by a team of in-house professionals from Charles Schwab and Company.

Sycamore Financial Advisors employs Charles Schwab’s fixed income traders assist with portfolio review and building bond ladders and we work closely with Agency Services Incorporated to find the right Insurance solutions for individual clients.  These are examples of the resources at our disposal to help you reach your ongoing financial objectives.

Retirement Planning

Many people are aware of the financial risks they face, yet have done little to address the issues in ways that will make a difference in their long-term financial security. According to the Employee Benefit Research Institute, a little more than half of full-time working Americans (57%) participate in a retirement plan.  Indeed, even if you have a pension that seems fairly solid, a 401(k) or both, you could still be at financial risk if your overall portfolio is not optimized for performance.

If you choose to share comprehensive financial information, We will start by examining your pension, 401(k) and non-employer-based assets to ensure that holdings complement one another, not duplicate.  Based on risk profile and time horizon, we seek to maximize performance and reduce risk through overall portfolio diversification.  This may include recommendations for adding asset categories like real estate or international funds that have a low or negative correlation to other holdings.

Paying for health care and long-term care in the absence of family caregivers is one of the biggest wild cards in the retirement planning game, especially given the projections for soaring medical costs and corporate cutbacks in retiree health benefits.  We factor into our analyses the costs of health care and long-term care, including the financial burdens you may assume when caring for an elderly parent.  We also explain the roles of Medicare, Medicaid, retiree health benefits and private health insurance in the overall financial plan.

We recommend strategies that seek to meet or outperform specific market segments with as little risk as possible to your assets.  We are committed to protecting your hard-earned money while we work to make it grow.

Mutual funds, annuities and other investment products are not insured by the FDIC; are not deposits or other obligations of, or guaranteed by, any bank or affiliate; and are subject to investment risks, including the possible loss of principal amount invested.

Education Planning

According to collegeboard.com, 2007-08 in-state tuition and fees at public four-year institutions average $6,185 and average total charges including room and board are $13,589.  Out-of-state tuition and fees at public four-year institutions average $16,640; including room and board drives the average total bill to $24,044.  When you multiply these numbers by four, it's easy to see why it's important to work with a professional on planning for college expenses.

The good news is there are many ways to deal with the college funding issue at any stage of the game.  We advise clients who are planning ahead on potentially higher yielding investments that can make a big difference in the amount of money they can accumulate for college expenses.  Even if a child is on the doorstep of the institution, We can offer suggestions that may go beyond the immediate issue to ease overall financial stress.

We help small business clients prepare for leaving their businesses under the most favorable financial conditions.  We look at key issues such as whether the business will be capable of distributing enough income to principals post departure and developing a strategy to maximize value in the short and long terms.  Where appropriate, we will coordinate the development of a business succession and exit plan with bankers, attorneys and accountants.
